• Nissan Patrol transmission interface

This little box includes 5 high side (positive) outputs and a multiplexer to convert a transmission range selector with multiple +12V signals into an analog signal.

This allows the 4 speed transmission found in Nissan Patrol Y60 and Y61 cars to be controlled from a DID1 or LPC8 ECU, and likely other Japanese transmissions that have the solenoids grounded inside the transmission.

The box has two connectors, the 20 pin connector is wired to the car's transmission loom, while the 12 pin connector connects to the ECU.

Pin-out of 20 pin connector:

  1. Gear selector position 1
  2. Gear selector position 2
  3. Gear selector position D
  4. Gear selector position N
  5. Gear selector position R
  6. Gear selector position P
  7. Overdrive off signal (pass through)
  8. Power ground
  9. +12V input
  10. +12V input
  11. Sensor ground for temperature and speed sensors
  12. Speed sensor input (pass through)
  13. Mode input (pass through)
  14. Mode light output (pass through)
  15. Temperature sensor (pass through)
  16. Solenoid 1 output
  17. Solenoid 2 output
  18. Solenoid 3 output
  19. Solenoid 4 output
  20. Solenoid 5 output
Pin out of 12 pin connector:

  1. Solenoid 5 control from ECU
  2. Solenoid 4 control from ECU
  3. Solenoid 3 control from ECU
  4. Solenoid 2 control from ECU
  5. Solenoid 1 control from ECU
  6. Sensor ground from ECU
  7. Mode light output from ECU
  8. Temperature sensor signal to ECU analog input
  9. Gear selector position signal to ECU analog input
  10. Mode switch input to ECU digital input
  11. Speed sensor signal to ECU digital input
  12. Overdrive off signal to ECU digital input
